Karan Palsania, a Ph.D. scholar at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been selected for the third edition of Indian Ocean Conference (IOC). Palsania is the scholar of the Department of History, School of Social Sciences at the University of Hyderabad. Indian Ocean Conference 2018 is scheduled to take place on 27-28 August 2018 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The theme for the IOC 2018 is 'Building Regional Architectures'. The third edition of Indian Ocean Conference is being hosted by India Foundation in association with S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, and Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies.
The conference is an annual effort to bring together Heads of States/Governments, Ministers, Thought Leaders, bureaucrats, diplomats, scholars, and practitioners from across the region. It was initiated by India Foundation along with its partners from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Singapore.
Previous two successful editions of Indian Ocean Conference were hosted in 2016 and 2017 in Singapore and Sri Lanka respectively. They conferences, which saw participation from over 35 countries with global media coverage, were supported by the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
Meanwhile, another student of University of Hyderabad has been invited to present a paper at the 6th International Conference on New Trends in English Language Teaching and Testing (NTELTISTANBUL) to be held at Istanbul, Turkey on 8th September 2018. Muhammad Rashid PK is an M.Phil scholar and working under Professor Pingali Sailaja at Centre for English Language Studies. He will present his paper on “A Critical Study on the Effect of Technology Assisted Autonomous Language Learning”.
