Most of the schools in Pune have declared holiday on Monday and some of them have postponed the scheduled exam after messages of 'Pune Bandh' started circulating on messaging app WhatsApp. The message led to the confusion among parents who started enquiring about the functioning of schools on Monday. Schools like Vibgyor at NIBM, Phoenix World School in Kharadi, Pawar Public School at Amanora have declared holiday as a precautionary measure.

While some of the schools have declared holiday on Monday, others have rescheduled exams. Some have asked parents to send their kids to schools according to their wish on Monday.

"In view of tomorrow's rally, there may be traffic diversion later in the day in certain parts of the city. You may accordingly decide to send your ward to school. The School buses will be plying on normal routes", TOI quoted Bishop's Co-ed school, Kalyaninagar notificaation issued on Sunday.

"The tests scheduled for tomorrow, 30th July 2018 is rescheduled to a later date. The date for the tests will be notified in due course of time", the notification added.

Some people took the message circulating on WhatsApp seriously because it several Maratha outfits had observed bandh in Maharashtra to press their demand of 16 per cent reservation in government jobs.

As the state is heading for elections next year, these outfits think that they don't have much time to get the quota implemented.
