Rajasthan Government Schools is all set to start using NCERT Books as part of their official prescribed study material from next academic session. As per media reports, the state government has passed a recent order confirming that all government schools and government aided schools in Rajasthan state will incorporate NCERT Books as part of their learning modules from the upcoming academic session. The decision was announced by Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara on 11th September 2019 – Wednesday.
Decision Taken after Syllabus Review
Minister Dotasara also told the reporters that the decision to introduce NCERT Books in Rajasthan Government school was based on the recommendation of State Syllabus Review Committee.
NCERT Books from Class 6 to Class 8
Following the decision of Rajasthan Government, NCERT Books will be made official study material for students of Hindi and English medium schools in the state. The decision will be implanted for students of classes 6 to 8 from the next academic session. Dotasara also added a new NCERT Books titled ‘Humara Rajasthan’ will also be introduced in three part series for students of classes 6 to 8. The book sensitizes students about state’s history, culture and geography. As per media reports, NCERT Books will also be introduced as part of the curriculum for Class 9 and Class 11 students from next academic session onwards.
NCERT Books for Class 10 and Class 12 from 2021
Education Minister also informed that students from Classes 10 and 12 will also have to start using NCERT Books from 2021 onwards. However, for the on-going academic session, the syllabus will remain the same as prescribed before, to avoid affecting performance of the students in the Board Exams.
