RUSU Poll Result: Rajasthan University Students Union polls result out today, LIVE updates here

The Rajasthan University Students Union election, which began last month, has declared its result yesterday. Independent candidate Vinod Jakhar has won the Rajasthan University's presidential poll. He said he is aiming to act as an inspiration for all the independent candidates to come in future. Another Independent candidate Renu Chowdhary has registered an impressive victory on vice president's post. Earlier, it was informed that the RUSU Poll results will be out by September 12 but the results have been declared yesterday only. The news came that the doors of the varsity were closed to avoid any mishap during result declaration. The Rajasthan University administration has finished the counting of votes and declaration of results of student union elections. The classes were suspended to avoid any mishap during the result declaration. It was informed that the Central Library will be closed but the administrative block will continue its working.

As per the reports, hundreds of policemen have been deputed in the university campus for the security. The Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg will be one-way till the results are declared. All the gates have been closed. Only the main university gate is open. About 200 employees, both teaching and non-teaching are appointed on the special duty to make sure nothing goes out of hand. As per the reports by the Times of India, the seals of the room containing ballot boxes will be opened on Tuesday in front of all the candidates.

  • Rajasthan University Students Union elections results: Independent candidate Vinod Jakhar wins president's seat with 1,860 votes.
  • Rajasthan University Students Union elections results: Independent candidate Renu Chowdhary defeats her nearest rivals to win vice president's post.
  • Rajasthan University Students Union elections results: Another independent candidate Aditya Pratap Singh wins general secretary's seat.
  • Rajasthan University Students Union elections results: ABVP candidate Menal Sharma wins joint secretary's position.
  • Jaipur college election results: ABVP's Amit Kumar wins president's post.
  • Jaipur college election results: Ashish Chaudhary has been elected as Vice President. Kumar Bairva was polled for the general secretary position and Sandip Saini has won the joint secretary position.

3:00 PM: In Jaipur College, Amit Kumar has been elected as president whereas Naresh Kumar Bairva has become general secretary. Sandip Saini has become Joint Secretary and Ashish Chaudhary becomes vice president.

2.39 PM: Tonk Government PG College result announced. NUSI wins 3 out of 4 seats. NSUI’s Pawan Meena becomes President, Anuj Khatik and Dilkhush Daroga win respective seats.

1:13 PM: Rajendra Pratab from Commerce college has been declared as a winner in RUSU Poll 2018 result.

1:05 PM: All the gates have been closed since 8 PM, from Monday. These gates will reopen after the successful declaration of the result.

It has been reported that the ballot boxes of different constituent colleges of the University will be sent to their respective colleges and boxes of apex will be sent to humanities hall in the university where counting will start. Sarina Kalia, Dean, Student Welfare, stated, "Counting of 11,516 votes will be done in front of 200 staff of the university, 31 candidates or their agents. For transparency, five cameras on five counting tables and one at the university main gate will be installed. Counting will start at 11 am and will take around three hours to finish. But if recounting happens, then it can stretch up to another three hours."
