UGC Sanskrit Week Competition

The University Grants Commission has asked the affiliated universities and institutes to celebrate World Sanskrit Day and organize activities related to the same. Candidates who wish to participate in the competition can visit the official website to submit the applications. Candidates can submit the applications for the competitions until August 5, 2020. 

World Sanskrit Day was declared by the Indian Government in 1969 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. This year world Sanskrit Day’ will be celebrated on August 3, 2020. 

‘World Samskrita Day will be conducted by the Consortium of Sanskrit Universities by organizing ‘Samskrita Week Celebration from July 31 to August 6, 2020. The University Grants Commission has asked the universities to organize the events on the lines of the events being organized by the consortium of Sanskrit Universities. 

The Central Sanskrit University, Delhi has released the complete schedule for the programmes and competitions being organized for the Samskrit Week Celebration. With the pandemic situations, the competitions are set to be organized in the online mode.

List of Competitions

Students in the Acharya Level or MA and Shastri or BA programmes can participate in the Original Story-telling in Sanskrit, Sanskrit song competition, and Sanskrit Poem recitation. 

Students from classes 9 to 12 can participate in the story-telling competition in Sanskrit, Sanskrit song competition, and Sanskrit Subhashit recitation.

Sanskrit Week List of competitions

Students who wish to participate in the above-mentioned competitions can upload the videos on Facebook or Youtube and then submit the same to the registration portal on the University website.
