The Kolkata-based St. Xavier’s University started its MBA programme, with 80 students in its first batch, today. The course will be run under the university’s Xavier’s Business school. The University Vice-Chancellor Father Felix Raj threw light on some of the course details, saying that the course is being offered in a total of four streams. “From today we are offering the MBA course which will be for two years and today is the first day,” he said.
Raj also stated that the university has obtained the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approval to validate the running of the residential course. Renowned industrialist Sanjiv Goenka, who’s an alumnus of the St. Xavier’s College and School, is also associated with the project, he added. Goenka said, “It is very inspirational for me to come and interact with these youngsters on the first day.”
The Xavier Business School, is all equipped with all the amenities available in the best business schools in the country, is now offering a two-year postgraduate programme in business administration with specialisation in finance, marketing, human resource, and systems. The fully developed Wi-Fi campus has air-conditioned classrooms equipped with audio-visual systems, an amphitheater, a digital library with 24-hour access for students and teachers, hostels with AC rooms, a food court, a doctor on call and a placement cell that will network with top companies.
