The Tamil Nadu State Government has decided to enforce the Social Distancing rule for the students appearing for the class 10 board examinations. The government is also establishing special examination centres for the benefit of those students in the containment zones in the state. The Tamil Nadu Board examination for the class 10 students is scheduled to be conducted from June 15, 2020, onwards.
The state government has also planned to distribute masks to 46.37 lakh students of class 10 and higher secondary students along with the teachers and other staff members during the examination period.
Special Exam Centres and Social Distancing Ruled to be implemented
The state government in a bid to deal with the apprehensions of the parents and students over the possibility of contracting COVID-19 while appearing for the examination a total of 12,690 examination centres have been arranged for the students.
An official from the board while speaking to the media said that a strict social distancing rule will be implemented by making sure that only 10 students write the exam in each exam hall in their respective schools. With this, the students will not have to travel to common examination centres.
According to data, close to 9.7 lakh students will appear for the examinations which have been rescheduled following the request of the parents The students who will be travelling from other districts or states will not be required to be quarantined but will be allowed to write the exams in separate exam halls within common centres.
Precautions to be taken
The TN Board examination and evaluation centres will be disinfected twice a day. Alternative examination centres will be set up for the containment zones and the students from the containment zones will be able to write the exam from the special examination centres.
Close to 2.22 lakh teachers and staff members will be involved in the 10th examinations and 1.65 lakh teachers and staff members will be brought in for the higher secondary examinations.
