Telangana School Closure Update: As per the latest update, Telangana State Government has decided to extend the Summer Vacations for all Schools and DIETs operating in the state in the light of the prevailing pandemic situation. Summer Holidays for School students have been extended until 20th June as per the official circular. Earlier, the state government had announced summer vacations for school and junior college students from 17th April 27 till 31st May 2021. But on 31st May, the Summer Holidays were extended until 15th June in the light of the rapidly rising COVID-19 cases as part of the 2nd wave of the pandemic. This has again been extended by a week until 20th June by the state government.
Official Circular Released by DIET
With rumours and speculations being rampant due to the COVID-19 situation, the authorities have decided to make the process official by releasing a notice or circular for the same. To confirm the development, the Director of School Education issued an order extending the holidays for all schools and District Institute for Education and Training (DIET). The order has asked all necessary stakeholders i.e. DIET principals, district educational officers, regional joint directors of school education, Hyderabad and Warangal and heads of departments to take necessary action accordingly.
TS Intermediate Exams 2021 Cancelled
Recently, the state government had decided to cancel the Telangana Intermediate Exam 2021 for 2nd year or Class 12 students in the light of the pandemic situation. Earlier in April, TSBIE had postponed the examination due to the COVID-19 2nd wave, but has no decided to cancel it altogether in line decisions announced by the CBSE and CISCE Boards. With the cancellation of TS 2nd Year Intermediate Exam 2021, all students who were due to appear for the exam will now be graded on the basis of objective criteria to be announced by the board. Students who remain unsatisfied with their results will also be given another chance to clear the exam, when the Covid situation improves, an official statement issued earlier said.
