The Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) is introducing a TISS (Management Aptitude Test) in addition to the existing TISS NET exam. The TISS MAT exam will be conducted for screening of candidates who wish to apply for MA (HRM&LR) and/or MA (ODCL) programmes. As confirmed by the authorities TISS MAT will be held immediately after TISS NET. The TISS NET 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted for 4th January 2020 in the online mode as a computer-based test.
As per the exam pattern of TISS MAT, the question paper will comprise 3 sections, namely, Management Data Interpretation, Comprehension and Business Awareness. 15 questions will be asked from each section. Each question will carry 1 mark, leading to a total of 45 marks. For every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The TISS MAT test is aimed to determine a candidate’s ability to read and interpret data which is related to the market, economy, business and organization, understand management literature and assess their business knowledge. The syllabus and topics for each of the section for TISS MAT exam has been made available on the official website.
There will be no sectional cut-off, but an overall cut-off to be decided by the authorities. Aspiring candidates are required to have completed their graduation or must be in their final year. The admission process of TISS MAT will be conducted in 2 stages. Candidates who qualify in the TISS MAT exam will be shortlisted and called in for a pre-interview test and personal interview.
In the overall selection process, the TISS MAT exam will carry a weightage of 10% while the pre-interview test and personal interview will carry a weightage of 40% and 30% respectively. Thus, candidates will first be required to appear in the TISS NET exam; where, if qualified, they will have to appear in TISS-MAT, after which they will have to take part in the pre-interview test as well as personal interview.
