TN Class 11 Admission 2021: Tamil Nadu Government has withdrawn its order regarding class 11th admission. The state government decided not to conduct any entrance examinations for admission to TN class 11 in the state. They further informed, they will increase the number of seats by 10 to 15 percent in the government and government-aided schools. Also, in case of a high number of applications, the schools can take admission based on class 9th marks.
Decision Regarding Class 11th Admission
On Thursday, the government had allowed the schools to conduct entrance test for admission to class 11. The mode was to be followed by schools for the streams they receive the most application for. However, a circular released by the School Education Department Commissioner said class 9th marks can be taken into consideration, and schools need not conduct a test based on the class 10 portions for allotting groups in class 11 to students.
Guidelines for class 11th admissions were issued by the School Education Department. The Chief Educational Officers have been asked to inform the heads of all schools about the revised guidelines to be followed. Welcoming the decision, the State Platform for Common School System-Tamil Nadu said students should be allotted the groups they wish to take. It recommended that additional sections be started in government schools to accommodate all students based on their preferred subjects.
TN Class 11 Admission Procedure
The admission procedure for TN HSC+1 or class 11 will commence in the third week of June, as per the conditions prevailing in the state. The exact schedule will be released by TN DGE in due course of time. Based on the COVID-19 situation, schools have been told that they can start sessions for class 11th students as per the prescribed date. For class 12th students, lessons can be provided through Kalvi TV and other resource materials.
This year, the TN class 10th board exam was cancelled due to COVID-19. therefore, the School Education Department has said schools can take the class 9th performance of the students into consideration while allotting them subject groups in class 11th, if the number of students opting for a specific group is much higher than the intake capacity.
