Gone are the days when chess used to be a game of just two players as an IIT-Roorkee alumnus has developed a three-player chess game - Triwizard Chess. This is India's first chess game for three players and has been developed by Aditya Nigam of 2014 batch. The most important thing about this game is that none of the original rules have been altered i.e. it follows all the national and international rules. “The game - Triwizard Chess is a 3 player strategy game where you get to test your survival and killer instincts at once. A player wins when his or hers is the only King still standing," says Aditya.
The innovative game is getting a good response and people are getting curious to know and play the Triwizard Chess. According to reports, Aditya took over eight months to prepare the whole strategy and execute it. The game has been designed with the aim of helping children sharpen their mind as in this game a player has to fight with minds simultaneously instead of only one in the traditional chess.
Aditya loves chess and has been playing the game since he was five-years-old and this love for the chess made him develop a unique game involving three players. He launched the game on August 4 at St Joseph’s Co-ed School by organising a competition in two categories i.e. Under-19 and Under- 14.
Recently, IIT Roorkee hosted Triwizard Chess tournament which saw the participation of over 100 students. Nitin Kumar, Amit Bendkhale, and Vivek Verma won first, second and third prize respectively. Triwizard Chess is Aditya's second startup venture with the first being financial technology-based app named 'Passbrook.'
