A total of 3,759 candidates have qualified TS SET 2018 or Telangana State - State Eligibility Test 2018. According to reports, 64,994 candidates had applied for the TS-SET 2018 test this year, out which 51,739 had finally appeared for the exam which was conducted on July 14. This brings the qualifying percentage of aspirants to just 7.27 per cent. The exam was conducted for 29 subjects at seven regional centers in the state - Hyderabad, Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Nizamabad and Warangal.
Osmania University, which has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting TS SET exam for Assistant Professor or Lectureship, announced the results on September 7. The candidates who cleared the exam must note that the authorities will not issue the original mark sheet soon after the formal declaration of the results. Hence, it is extremely important for the candidates to download results and take some printout of the same for future references.
Those who cleared the exam are now eligible for appointment for the post of Assistant Professor or Lecturer in Universities and Degree Colleges of the state. TS SET 2018 was conducted for two papers – paper I and II. In order to become eligible, candidates of general category must obtain at least 40 per cent aggregate marks in two paper taken together and those of SC, ST, and other reserved categories must secure at least 35 per cent aggregate marks.
Earlier, there used to be three papers for the exam - paper I, II and III - but later it was curtailed to only two as second and third paper were almost of the same discipline. Paper I contains objective type question of 2 marks each and Paper II consists of objective questions of 2 marks each. However, the Osmania University is expected to conduct the test in computer-based mode from next year.
