The NTA UGC NET 2019 registration window is scheduled to begin from September 1, 2018. The National Eligibility Test which is under the University Grants Commission will be conducted by the National Testing Agency, i.e. NTA from 2019. Every year, UGC NET is conducted for the Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor Programme for all the Indian aspirants. The registration window will open form September 1 and will close on September 30, 2018. Once all the procedures are completed, the admit cards will be released before the examination.
In UGC NET examination, the aspirants who have done masters or the Junior Research Fellowship honorees are eligible to pursue research in their PG subject from IITs or other national institutions. Even the students who are in the final year of their masters are eligible for this course. Those students can also apply for the post of Assistant professor in the colleges & universities. It has been stated on the official website that, “All the aspirants who belong to the third gender would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for NET (i.e. Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories. The subject wise cut-offs for this category should be the lowest among those for SC/ST/PwD/OBC NCL categories in the corresponding subject.”
All the candidates are advised to choose the subject that is related to their post-graduation of masters. If there is no subject related to your course, you can opt for the courses that are somehow related to your field. It will help you in preparing for the examination. Aspirants having degrees from outside the country are advised that if they want they can attain the equivalence of their diploma/degree/certificate with Master s degree of recognized Indian universities from Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
The National Testing Agency also known as NTA has been established as an autonomous and self-sustained testing body to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions.
