The University of Hyderabad has formed a task force to find out ways for resuming the suspended classes in the university. The university had suspended the academic activities on March 15, 2020, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country.
With the help of the task force, the university also plans to reassure their efforts to sustain the high-quality education among the students and parents while also addressing the on-campus health and safety concerns and issues related to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Activities of the Taskforce
According to the university officials, a 12 member task force has been formed to consult the different stakeholders of the university and work out an action plan to begin the academic activities that were shut in the last three months. The academic activities include practical steps for starting classes for the students as well as for those who wish to join the University in this academic year.
The task force set by the university will examine and recommend a range of teaching methods to be incorporated face-to-face, online and blended modes of delivery of course content. The task force will also be recommending appropriate measures to upgrade the institution's Information and Communication Technology infrastructure to be able to address the challenges of online education.
Along with this, it will also examine the scheduling and mode of university annual entrance exams which is usually held across the country for the admissions to the postgraduate and research programmes. The task force will also be monitoring the implementation of the decisions taken by the university on the matters mentioned and remain in operation until December 31, 2020.
The university has already begun the application process. As per the schedule provided, the last date to submit the applications was June 30, 2020.
