UP Board Exam 2020: As per the media reports, UPMSP has set aside a total budget of Rs 150 crores for conduct of the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams. According the report, the UP Board has budgeted a total of cost of Rs 150 crores to hold exams for over 56 lakh students from both Class 10 i.e. Matric and Class 12 i.e. Intermediate classes. The Budget includes cost for all the activities, logistical arrangements and papers that are to be held as part of the UP Board Exam 2020 which is starting on 18th February 2020.
Designing of Question Papers to Cost the Most
According to the details provided by the UPMSP, the maximum cost has been set aside for the designing of question papers for various subjects. The cost also involves designing of question papers by enrolling experts, moderation of the final question papers, printing of question papers and safely transporting them to the respective examination centres across the state. To ensure complete secrecy and to avoid leaking of question papers, UP Board gets multiple sets of papers designed for different subjects. Therefore, in case of a paper leak, back-up question papers can be used for the conduct of the examination.
Paper Checking to Cost Rs 15 to 20 crore
As per tentative estimates, around 56 lakh students are expected to appear for the UP Board Exam 2020 for both Class 10 and Class 12. On an average, each student will appear for 5 papers which takes the total number of answer sheets to be checked to around 3.3 crores. UP Board plans to engage nearly 2.5 lakh teachers as evaluators for checking the answer sheets of the Board Exams. This exercise is expected to cost around Rs 15 to 20 crores in total.
Answer Sheet Printing to cost Rs 17 crores
As discussed above, around 3 crore answer sheets will be used by the students during the UP board Exam 2020. In line with this, the board has assigned Rs 17 crores to get these answer sheets specially printed through Government Printing Press, which specializes in printing of answer sheets. These answer sheets are printed in a unique manner which makes sure that no one else can imitate the printing style or format. Moreover, after completion of the examination, the transportation of the answer sheets to different evaluation centres also include cost for which a sizable amount of budget has been set aside by the board.
