UP Government to Setup New University: As per the latest update, UP Government will open a new University in Aligarh. The news has confirmed that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been presented a plan for setting up of a new varsity named after Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh in Aligarh. Yogi Adityanath led BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh, passed a resolution in a Cabinet Meeting, giving its approval to setting up a new University. Following the cabinet decision, the Government will soon pass an ordinance on Tuesday to clear the decks for setting up of new varsity.
Demands for renaming of AMU
The decision comes in the wake of demand from various BJP leaders to rename Aligarh Muslim University after Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, who had donated land for the varsity. The demand has been considered by the government and in response, has decided to setup a new university which is named after Jat King Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh, instead of renaming AMU, to avoid any controversy.
Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma Confirms Development
The news about setting up of new University dedicated to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh has also been confirmed by the Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma. UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma also holds the charge of education ministry and has said that following the tabling of the ordinance, the work for setting up new University will begin soon.
UP Deputy CM to monitor UP Board Exam 2020
In similar news, UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, will also be monitoring the UP Board Exam 2020 to ensure that there is no incidents of cheating or any other malpractices. UP Board or the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has put in place a digital process to monitor the entire examination process. As part of the process, UP Board will Board Exam Control Room will receive feed from all 8,700 examination centres in the state. This live stream will also be available to the minister, through which he is planning to help the Parishad control incidents of cheating. Over 56 lakh students from Class 10 and Class 12 will be appearing for UP Board Exam 2020 in February – March 2020 months.
