UP NEET 2018 second round counselling choice filling process begins tomorrow

The Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) choice filling process for the second round of counselling for admission to state quota seats will begin tomorrow and will continue till 4 pm on August 12, 2018. The Directorate General of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh (UPDGME) will release the allotment result on August 12 and 13 and it will available for download from August 13 to August 17. The Students will have to report at the allotted college for admission from August 14 to August 18 (except on August 15).

It is important to note that while filling choice for the second counselling, it is mandatory for candidates to lock their choices. All those students who had already been allotted seats in the first round of counselling and have submitted original documents and admission fee, will have to produce the receipt in case these students are allotted a seat in the second round. In case of a difference in admission fee, such candidates will have to submit the difference in the fee amount by way of demand draft (DD) at the concerned nodal centre.

Earlier, the process for admissions in the state began on June 20 and the merit list was announced on June 25. The first round of choice filling process took place in the month of July. However, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) issued a notice on July 12 following which the counselling was postponed.


The UPDGME is the department of medical education which plays a very important role in developing medical and para medical personal to cater to the health needs of the state. The key objective of the department is to enhance the quality of life of the people of the state. The department also has a role to play in establishment and maintenance of well-equipped teaching institutions, which are the premier referral centers from peripheral hospitals. Research is another area of activity for medical education department. The directorate facilitates a comprehensive medical education via various medical, dental and paramedical colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, it also provides standard medical facilities to the patients.
