Update: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will publish soon the official notification for the 2016 Indian Administrative Service and Indian Forest Service exam.
The Civil Services Examination 2016 and the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2016, scheduled to be notified on April 23, 2016, will be notified later.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will announce the official notification for recruitment of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Exam today i.e April 23, 2016. Candidates are also required to note that UPSC will conduct the Indian Forest Service (Main) Exam 2016 from November 12, 2016 of the 10 days. UPSC selects candidates for Indian Forest Service Main exam through the Civil Services Prelims exam. All those who are interested in the job may now register for the exam through online by visiting official website of UPSC www.upsconline.nic.in.UPSC IAS 2016 Exam Dates are out.UPSC IAS 2016 will conduct on 07 August 2016 and the last date for receipt of application is 20 May 2016.

You can pay the application fee through challan of State Bank of India or by internet banking/debit card/credit card of SBI bank. Candidates who are in general category will have to pay the application fees of 100 Rs/- for this examination.
Earlier UPSC has published the exam calendar on its official site upsc.nic.in. As per the exam calendar UPSC IAS Preliminary Exam 2016 is scheduled for August 7 this year. In 2014 UPSC civil services preliminary examination was conducted on August 24. The exam will be conducted in three stages: Preliminary, main and a personality test via an interview.
The candidate should follow the age relaxation as per the government rule. The candidate age should between 21-32 years. Age relaxation also applicable according to the central government rules. The candidate for the post of IAS selection process will be based on the Prelims written exam, Mains Written an exam and followed by the interview.
The UPSC IAS 2016 Preliminary Examination consists of two papers with objective questions as multiple choice questions. Both the papers carry 200 marks each (total 400 marks). This exam is designed to serve as a screening test only. In the CSAT or Paper-II of Preliminary Exam, that is the General Studies II. The candidate would have to score a minimum 33% of marks for qualifying in Mains (written). Also, there is a negative marking for every incorrect answer deducts 1/3rd of marks from the total obtained marks.
Candidates are required to apply online for UPSC IAS/IAF by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in. Candidates who wish to apply for UPSC IAS/IAF 2016 are required to note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
According to the press note published on the website upsc.gov.in in 2015, a total of 1,236 candidates were recommended for appointment. Last year’s toppers are Ira Singhal, Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta. Four out of the five toppers were women.
Ira Singhal, a physically handicapped IRS officer from Delhi, topped the Civil services examination 2015 in which the top four positions went to women. 29-year-old Singhal topped the exam in the general category followed by Renu Raj, a doctor from Kerala, and Nidhi Gupta, also an Indian Revenue Service officer from Delhi, who secured second and third positions respectively, according to the UPSC IAS results announced by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on July 2015
The UPSC is India's central agency authorised to conduct the Civil Services examination, Indian Forest Service examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defence Services examination, National Defence Academy examination, Naval Academy examination, Combined Medical Services examination, Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service examination, Combined Geoscientist and Geologist examination, and the Central Armed Police Forces(Assistant Commandant) examination.
