The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) will publish a circular regarding UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test) 2018 on September 15, 2018. As per the reports, the online application form for UPTET 2018 will commence on September 17 and the window will close on October 3, 2018. The entrance examination will be conducted on October 28, 2018, and the final UPTET result will be declared on November 20, 2018. The UPTET is a state level test which is conducted to appoint teachers in primary that is Class I to V and upper primary that is Class VI-VIII schools in the state.
The UPTET entrance examination is conducted every year, in which two objective type/multiple choice questions (MCQs) papers are there. Total time for the exam is 1 hour 30 minutes. Both are intended for a different level of the teaching job. All the students who are looking for a teaching job in primary section (Class I to V) need to appear for Paper 1. On another hand, the students who are aspiring for a teaching job in the upper primary section (Class VI and VIII.) need to appear for Paper 2. Those who are aspiring for a teaching job in both primary and upper primary sections need to appear for both the papers i.e. Paper 1 & 2.
UPTET certificate is a must for any candidate aspiring for a government teaching job in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The UPTET certificate is applicable for screening and selection of candidates for teaching posts in government schools and private schools across the state. However, the validity of UPTET certificate is limited to 5 years from the date of passing UPTET.
Last year, nearly 10 lakh candidates had appeared in the UPTET 2017 examination, result of which was declared on 15 December 2018. UPTET 2017 exam was held on 15 October at the centers located across the state. Out of 10 lakh candidates, around 3,49,192 candidates appeared for Primary level and 6, 27,568 for Upper primary level in UPTET 2017.
