In order of the execution of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) educational programs, the UP Board of secondary schools and indermediate school has got the approval of conducting one examination for the same subject. It has been decided that from next session, students of the UP board will have to appear for only one paper in 40 subjects, including Hindi, English, and Mathematics etc. For making it a little easier for the students, the Uttar Pradesh Board has also uploaded model question papers as per the revised module.
Till now, test papers of 24 subjects, including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History and Geography have been uploaded.
The step aims to align the format of intermediate education to that of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) followed on class 11 and 12. Every year, the UP Board conducts exams in 105 subjects for high schools and intermediate schools.
These include 41 subjects of vocational trades. All the subjects such as Agriculture are also included.
As per the reports, the UP Board secretary Neena Srivastava stated, “In order to completely implement the NCERT pattern and bring uniformity in secondary education offered by CBSE and other boards, from session 2018-19 onward, instead of two, only one paper will be conducted in 40 subjects of intermediate education. For the convenience of students, we are uploading model question papers as per the revised format on the official website.”
