Uttarakhand Board Exam 2021 Postponed / Cancelled: With COVID-19 situation getting more serious by the day, the Uttarakhand State Government has decided to cancel UBSE 10th Exam 2021 for High School Students. Along with this, Uttarakhand 12th Exam 2021 has been postponed to a later date. As per the earlier date sheet, the UBSE i.e. Uttarakhand Board of School Education was to hold the UK 10th and 12th Exam 2021 from 4th May to 22nd May 2021. The decision was taken on Saturday – 17th April, in the light of the rising COVID-19 cases in the country. State Education Minister Mr Arvind Pande formally announced the decision saying that “In view of rising Covid19 cases, the state board examinations for Class 10 have been cancelled while deferred for class 12."

Dates for Class 12 Exam After June Review

Along with announcing cancellation of high school exams and postponement of Class 12 Exam, the minister said that the new dates for UK Board 12th Exam 2021 will be announced only in June. Speaking to reporters, Mr Pande said that “The Uttrakhand state board will now hold a meeting on 1 June 2021 and will take any call on the exams on the day of the meeting." During the review meeting, officials from different departments would present the ground situation and on the basis of that the final decision about upcoming UBSE 12th Exam 2021 would be taken.

Decision to impact 3 lakh students from State

The latest decision to cancel UK Board 10th Exam 2021 and postpone UBSE 12th Exam 2021 is expected to benefit a total of 3 lakh students. As per numbers shared by the department, around 148 lakh students were to appear for Class 10 exam which have been cancelled now. On the other hand, Class 12 Board Exams of Uttarakhand Board have been postponed for 1.23 lakh students. The decision to postpone UBSE Board Exam 2021 comes amid the much more aggressive COVID-19 2nd Wave. In the Last 24 hours, India has recorded a spike of over 2.6 Lakh cases, which is the biggest spike ever in the country of this 2nd wave of Covid 19.
