WB Board Madhyamik Exam 2019 will begin from 12th February 2019 – Tuesday, as per the official datesheet released by the West Bengal Board. The Board has also announced a host of security measures and new initiatives to check malpractices and cheating in the upcoming WBBSE Madhyamik Board Exam 2019. As part of these new measures, the exam invigilators will not be allowed to carry cell phones inside the exam hall during the Madhyamik. The decision regarding the ban on mobile phone, even by exam invigilators, was announced by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
Announcing the decision, the WBBSE Board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly told reporters that “teachers, who have been assigned the duty of invigilators, will have to hand over their mobile phone 30 minutes before the start of examination to the venue-in-charge who will be a government official”. Emphasising upon the importance of the decision, Mr Ganguly also said that the move was aimed at preventing malpractices during the WBBSE 10th Exam 2019. He also said that disciplinary action, including suspension, will be taken against the teachers and exam centres who fail to comply with the new rule. Students are already barred from carrying cell-phones inside the examination halls.
Further, the Board president also added that only the following officers involved in the WB Board Madhyamik Exam 2019 are allowed to use cell phones in the exam centres:
· Centre officer in charge
· Centre secretary
· Venue supervisor
· Venue in charge
· Additional venue supervisor
As per the official exam schedule, the WBBSE 10th Exam 2019 will begin on 12th February and continue for 10 days, ending on 22nd February. This year, the board has implemented several strict security measures to check malpractices and cheating in the WBBSE Board Exam. Last year, a school principal from Jalpaiguri district was involved in leaking of question paper and was suspended for his actions. This year, the West Bengal Board has further strengthened the security apparatus for the Madhyamik exam.
