Having been launched last week only, Xiaomi’s latest offering, the Mi A2 smartphone, is set to hit the Indian market today. The phone will be available for sale through Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home, and Mi Preferred Partner Store. Xiaomi has already dished out its launch offers, and it was put up for pre-orders when it was launched. Coming to the phone, it is a part of the Android One initiative, meaning that it would come running on stock Android and will also be on the priority list to receive updates.
The Mi A2 will be booting Android 8.1 Oreo and will be up for grabs in a couple of variants differing on the RAM and the ROM (4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB), although the company has said that the 6GB variant is due to arrive soon. The phone comes in different hues, ranging from Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold. The phone’s minimum price range has been set at Rs. 16,999.
Apart from that, the Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the top. It has a dual-camera unit at the back with a 12MP Sony IMX486 primary sensor and a 20MP Sony IMX376 secondary one. Up front, the phone has a 20MP selfie snapper.
4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual-band, 2.4GHz, and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C (v2.0) port and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner complete the list of the specifications for the phone which is a successor to the company’s Mi A1 phone that came out last year.
