The Poco F1 smartphone, belonging to Xiaomi’s new venture - a sub-brand named Pocophone, was launched yesterday. The new company’s first smartphone will be up for grabs from 29th August, with price starting at Rs. 20,999. Xioami, or rather Poco, will be pitting the smartphone in direct competition with other smartphones belonging to the mid-range category, such as the Oneplus 6 and the Asus Zenfone 5Z . The phone will be available on both Flipkart, as well as Xiaomi’s own Mi.com.
The Poco F1 has been fitted with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display (1080x2248p resolution) with a 19:9 aspect ratio and notch up top that houses an infrared face-unlock feature. The phone is available in three variants, differing on the RAM and ROM available. The variants start with the 6GB + 64GB model and have a 6GB + 128GB one in the middle, finishing off with an 8GB + 256GB variant.
To keep the things running, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, that has been coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU. For cameras, it has a now common dual camera unit at the back, comprising of a 12MP primary sensor having dual-pixel autofocus, accompanied by a 5MP secondary sensor. Up front, there’s been put a 20MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It runs Xiaomi’s indigenous MIUI 10 interface based on Android Oreo 8.1 (promised to be upgradable to Android P later), and comes fitted a 4,000mAh battery with Quickcharge 3.0 support and fast charging capabilities. The Poco F1 is available in three colors - Rosso Red, Steel Blue, and Graphite Black.
