ECET is the abbreviation used for The Engineering Common Entrance Test, it is a test conducted by JNTU University, Kakinada for the purpose of students entering into courses like BE/B.Tech/B. Pharmacy programmes offered in University/AICTE/PCI approved institutions for the academic year of 2016. The main objective of the examination is specifically looking forward to the candidates who have the required aptitude to meet the expected challenges of the above mentioned bachelor degree. Only those selected candidates who will be able to clear the examination in B.E. or B.tech based on rank secured in the merit list will get an allotted seat for a Bachelor’s degree. This exam is a gateway to courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, Science and Mathematics. ECET holds a very important position in the lives of AP residents.
The ECET exam date for academic year 2016-17 is tentatively Second/Third Week of May 2016. An approximate number to students appearing for the exam is expected to be around 75000 candidates. There is an eligibility criteria for candidates who can apply for ECET 2016 from March onward. JNTU-A University will announce the Results tentatively by the first week of April 2016 at official website with rank as well. The Rank will be allotted to the candidate based on the actual obtained and secured score in ECET 2016 in three section with 200 marks. So candidate needs to get at least minimum of 25% marks for qualifying the test. There is no minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates. So candidates can get their Results by entering the candidate hall ticket number and date of birth.
ECET 2016 Results result updates will be available on this page by the first week of June 2016. The ECET 2016 Exam will be held on 09 March 2016 at various examination centers across the Telangana state. There are over one lakh candidates who appear for ECET exam every year. NTU-A University will announce the Results on first week of April 2016 at official website along with the rank.
Selection of the candidates depends upon their merit performance in the examination. It should be noted that reservation system is also considered during the rank distribution. Reservation percentage varies for different category people. It is important for candidates to meet the cut of the exam to get through it and secure at least 25 % marks for qualifying the test. Once the candidates have cracked this exam, they can further move to enter their dream course.
