IBPS PO is a bank recruitment exam that is conducted Institute for Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to select eligible and deserving candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in various public sector banks. IBPS was set up by the banking industry and was launched in the year of 1975. It became an independent entity in the year of 1984. Today, IBPS is itself a prominent institute that has complete control over the recruitment, placement and promotion process of candidates at various public sector banks. It is mandatory for candidates to appear for the examinations conducted by IBPS to secure a great and lucrative future in public sector banks. Banking has always been considered as a promising and lucrative career. A job in banking gives youngsters and people financial security and a good career. The IBPS 2016 exam will include a Common Written Exam or CWE that is further followed by a personal round of interview. Only those candidates who clear the written test are eligible to appear for the interview.
The Common Written Exam was introduced by IBPS in the year of 2011 for the selection of officers and clerks in the private banks. The test is of total 200 marks and will test the candidates in five areas: Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Reasoning, Computer Knowledge and English Language.
Initially, the participating banks conducted the common interview but the year 2012 changed the pattern and IBPS has taken up the responsibility to arrange the common interview at various cities of India. After the exam they will prepare a list of the meritorious candidates, which the banks will then refer to for the further recruitment process.
Last year, the IBPS PO Result was declared in the month of November 2015. So tentatively, this year also the candidates can expect their result around the month of November. Candidates can check their result by logging on the IBPS website www.ibps.in.
In order to clear the IBPS PO exam, the candidates are advised to prepare with a trusted study material and also consult to Mock tests, Practice papers and past year question papers. This will give them an insight of the examination and they will know what kind of questions can they expect for the CWE. Solving tests will also help them evaluate their preparation level and identify their strong and weak areas, so that they can further prepare accordingly.
