  • Subject-wise Marks in both Paper 1 & 2: Cross-check subject-wise marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2
  • Total Positive Marks: Check total number of positive marks obtained by you for the correct answers in the exam
  • Total Marks: Check the total number of marks secured by you after deduction of negative marks for wrong answers

JEE Advanced 2019 Result – Tie Breaker Formula

In case two or more candidates secure the same number of marks in the JEE Advanced 2019 exam, the rank in the merit list will be decided on the basis of a tie-breaker formula. The tie-breaker formula to prepare the final merit list of students is provided below:

  • If two or more candidates secure the same number of overall marks, candidate with higher marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher
  • If two or more candidate have same number of overall marks and marks in Mathematics, candidate with higher marks in Physics will be ranked higher
  • If the tie in terms of marks still continues, both the candidates will be given the same rank

JEE Advanced 2019 – Counselling Process

After the official declaration of JEE Advanced 2019 Result, candidates who have qualified in the exam will have to register themselves for the common counselling process of JoSAA. The JoSAA Counselling Process for JEE Advanced will be notified after the declaration of the result and candidate will have limited time to register themselves for the same. The JoSAA Counselling Process will facilitate the course selection and seat selection process for the students. Through the JEE Advanced Counselling Process, seats will be allotted to the qualified candidates for admission to different undergraduate programmes offered by IITs, NITs, IIITs & CFTIs.  The allocation of seats at IITs other premier technology schools will be done on the basis of choices selected by the candidates during the counselling procedure. The seat allocation process will be done on the basis of merit rank, choice of the candidate and availability of seats at a particular institute.

JEE Advanced Result – Important Instructions

Candidates must keep the following important instructions in mind about JEE Advanced Result 2019 exam.

  1. JEE Advanced 2019 Result Scorecards / Rank Cards will not be sent to any candidate
  2. Separate category-wise JEE Advanced 2019 merit list will be released by JoSAA for OBC (NCL), ST and SC candidates
  3. Minimum marks required to qualify in the JEE Advanced 2019 exam will vary, as per the category of the candidate
  4. Qualifying in JEE Advanced 2019 exam, participating in the common JoSAA counselling process doesn’t guarantee admission to IITs or ISM.
  5. Admission to different IITs, NITs, ISM and CFITs will depend on the availability of the seats in the different counselling rounds.

Last year, PranavGoyal from Roorkee secured the AIR 1 or the All India Rank 1 in the JEE Advanced Exam. He managed to score 337 marks out of the total 360.
