Candidates looking for teaching as profession must qualify Kerala TET Exam for the recruitment as teacher in the Kerala Govt. Schools. Kerala TET is divided into 04 categories by the Kerala Govt. for recruitment of teachers in Kerala Govt. Schools. First category exams for the Lower Primary Teachers, second category exam for Upper Primary Teachers, third category exam for High School teachers and finally the fourth category exams for the Specialist Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in the Kerala Govt. schools.

Last year the organization had conducted the Kerala TET examination for the recruitment of the candidates in the Kerala Govt. schools. Only 11.85% candidates have successfully cleared the Kerala TET exam that was held on 03 & 17 October 2015. Total 20,278 candidates appeared for the examination in all the four categories and only 2,404 cleared the Kerala TET. Overall passing percentage of first category was 4.62%, in second category 17.98%, in third category 15.46% and in fourth category 5.63% in the Kerala TET.
