Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ajmer functions under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It is primarily responsible for recruiting the working and supervisory staff (Group 'C') required for Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner Divisions of North-Western Railway and Kota Division of West-Central Railway.

RRB Ajmer notifies candidates about the available vacancies as and when they arise. Candidates are informed about the vacancies through “Employment News” or Rojgar Samachar. After the application process gets complete, the Board begins the scrutiny of the forms given by prospective candidates. The scrutiny process includes, checking each and every detail mentioned by the candidate. Details like the educational qualification, age limit, reservation relaxation, etc. 


Currently, the RRB has started calling for applications through online medium. Candidates submit their applications against the required posts at the official portal of the Board. Candidates are provided with guidelines for uploading their photograph and signature as well. 


After the scrutiny process is over, candidates will be called for the written examination. The examination can either be done in one phase or in two phases: preliminary and main exam. Eligible candidates are called for a written Examination with call letters being sent a month in advance of the date of the Examination. Examinations are generally held in Malda. However, if no of candidates is very large, exams may be held at Asansol or other locations, as necessary.


If number of candidates is large, the candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam are called for the main written exam. As per extant guidelines in this regard the merit list is prepared based only on the results of the main Exams. In most categories of jobs, there is no interview after the written examination. For a very few specific categories there is a viva after the written exam. While for certain other categories there is a skill test.

Selection Procedure of RRB Ajmer

RRB Ajmer has a tailored selection procedure set by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), Government of India. The selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of written examination. In addition, Aptitude/Skill Test/Interview etc. may also be conducted wherever applicable. Short listed candidates will be called for verification of the original documents according to merit, availability of vacancies and reservation rules. 


The Board conducts written test and interview for selecting eligible candidates. The syllabus for the written examination will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple answers and likely to include questions pertaining to General Knowledge, General English / General Hindi, General Arithmetic, Analytical and Quantitative Skills and those subjects covered as part of minimum educational/technical qualifications for the post.


The question paper will be in English, Hindi and Urdu as well as in regional languages prevails in the jurisdiction of each RRB. The duration of the examination will be 1½ to 2 hours with approximately 100 to 150 questions. There shall be negative marking in written examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer @1/3 of the allotted marks for each question. 


Stages of examination are given against each post. Based on the performance of candidates in the examination, the candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for document verification in the main list.


Word of Caution regarding RRB Ajmer Result 2016: RRB Ajmer conducts examinations for recruiting the working and supervisory staff (Group 'C') in North-Western Railway and West-Central Railway. The selection pattern and scheme varies for different post as per the profile and requirement.
