UP Board Class 10th Exam conducted from 18th February 2016 to 9th March 2016 and UP Board Class 12th Exam conducted from 18th February 2016 to 21st March 2016 on various exam centers across the Uttar Pradesh State and its result expected to be announced on May third week 2016.
Last years addressing a press conference on the occasion, Director, Secondary Education and Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Avadh Naresh Sharma disclosed that about 30.6 lakh candidates had appeared in the high school (Class 10) examinations conducted this year between February 19 and March 11 out of whom approximately 25.6 lakh secured passing marks.
Last year the pass percentage for girls stood at 88.34 while that for boys was 79.73 per cent.
In 2015 Class 12th, overall pass percentage was 88.83 per cent. The pass percentage for girls being 92.16 per cent while for the boys it was 85.91 per cent. As far as UP Board 2014 12th result are concerned pass percantage was 92.21 percent.
In the results declared Sunday, Bunty of SSPDSVM Inter College trounced 34,98,428 students to bag the second spot with 96.6 per cent marks — second only to Sarvesh Verma of GSAS Academy, Haraiyya in Basti. Sarvesh, son of a farmer, scored one mark more than Bunty.
Jyoti Rathore and Mansi Jaiswal of Lucknow Public School (Rajajipuram Branch) got the first and second ranks respectively in the Uttar Pradesh board intermediate examination, while Sarvesh Verma of Basti topped in the high school examination
In all 24.55 lakh students passed intermediate and 25.59 lakh students passed high school examination this year. A total of 64.23 lakh examinees had registered in the examination — 34,98,430 examinees for the high school (Class 10) and 29,24,768 candidates for the intermediate exam (Class 12) respectively.
In 2015 Lucknow, a total of 57,874 students appeared in the high school exam and 50,475 candidates took the intermediate exam.
The high school examination was completed in working days between February 18 and March 9, 2016. The intermediate examination would be held in working days from February 18 to March 21 2016.
Previous year the pass percentage for both high school (83.74) and intermediate (88.83) year was the lowest since 2011.
The number of candidates, both boys as well as girls, who appeared for high school or intermediate examinations this year was also significantly lower than last year.
The pass percentage for girls this year stood at 88.34 for high school and 92.16 for intermediate.
However, this marked a drop of 2.97 per cent for high school and 3.38 per cent for intermediate when compared with the results of the previous year.
Boys too recorded a drop in pass percentage for both high school and intermediate. Their high school pass percentage (79.73) was 2.97 per cent lower than the previous year while for Intermediate their success rate (85.91) saw a drop of 3.9 per cent.
