What GPS Stands For
GPS means Global Positioning System. It is a technology that helps people find their location anywhere on Earth using signals from satellites in space.
How It Works
GPS uses 24 satellites that orbit Earth. These satellites send signals to devices like phones, cars, and planes, showing exactly where they are.
Works in All Weather
It works in all weather conditions. You can use GPS during sunny days, rainy nights, or even in cloudy skies without any problem.
Uses in Navigation
GPS is used for many things, like finding directions, tracking vehicles, and even helping ships navigate across oceans.
Scientific Uses
Scientists also use GPS to study Earth’s surface. It helps them track earthquakes, monitor mountains, and measure changes in the environment.
GPS History
The system was first developed by the United States military in the 1970s, but now everyone around the world can use it.
