Manmohan Singh was born on 26 September 1932 in West Punjab into a Sikh family. His intelligence changed the economic future of India.
2004 to 2014
He served the position of the Prime Minister of India for more than 10 years which is phenomenal. He has an excellent educational background.
Educational background
Manmohan earned a bachelor’s of Art from the Punjab University and then finished his Master’s of Arts in Economics in 1952 and 1954.
Higher education
He pursued a first class Honours degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and postgraduate degree from the University of Oxford.
Political journey
In 1971, he began his journey in Politics as an Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Commerce, He served several posts in the Ministry of Finance too.

His finance policies transformed the economy of India and he started reforms like cheapening the rupee, reducing tax burdens, encouraging foreign investments in India.

In 2004, INC’s Sonia Gandhi announced him as the Prime Minister of India and his leadership skills helped India in attaining inclusive growth and poverty reduction.
