Do You Know?
Delhi-NCR is facing hazardous air pollution with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching dangerous levels. To tackle this authorities have enforced Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
Dangerous air quality
The AQI recorded at 7 AM in the national capital was 483, with notable readings of 919 in Mundka, 762 in ITI Jahangirpuri, and 624 in Anand Vihar.
Vehicle restrictions
Diesel trucks (except for essential services) and non-BS VI vehicles are banned from entering Delhi. Older diesel goods vehicles are also restricted.
Construction activities halted
All construction and demolition work, including on public infrastructure like roads and flyovers, has been stopped to reduce dust emissions.
Schools may go online
Physical classes for students from Class VI onwards might shift to online teaching if conditions worsen.
Work-from-home
Offices are advised to allow 50 percent of staff to work remotely to reduce traffic and pollution.
Odd-even scheme possibility
Authorities may implement an odd-even rule for vehicles to cut down on emissions further.
