Youth Eligibility
The PM Internship Scheme is open to youths aged 21-24, not engaged in full-time employment or academic courses but enrolled in distance learning.
Internship Scope
1.25 lakh youths will intern with top 500 Indian companies starting December 2, aiming to enhance skills and provide work experience, supported by CSR funding.
Application Timeline
Applications are open from October 12-25, with selections from October 27-November 7. Internships begin December 2, providing opportunities for local placements.
Stipend
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, with ₹4,500 from the government and ₹500 from companies. Additional insurance coverage is provided by government schemes.
Pilot Project Investment
The government has allocated ₹800 crore for this pilot project, aiming to boost youth employability and promote corporate social responsibility through structured internships.
Company Participation
111 companies, including Mahindra & Mahindra, Max Health Insurance, and Alembic Pharmaceuticals, have already registered, offering over 1,000 internship posts to eligible candidates.
