Smriti Irani, who was sworn in Child and Development Ministry in Modi Cabinet 2.0 was defeated by Kishori Lal Sharma in the Amethi election by a margin of more than 1.6 lakh votes.
Anuarg Thakur
Anurag Thakur, who won the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat for the fifth time in a row, however, he was dropped from the cabinet. As per India Today, he might get a major organisational role.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who lost the Lok sabha election 2024 to Shashi Tharoor in a close contest, is also missing from the new government.
Raj Kumar Singh
Raj Kumar Singh, earlier the Union Minister for power and renewable energy, lost the seat in Bihar’s Arrah to CPI(ML)-Liberation’s Sudama Prasad by 59,808 votes.
Parshottam Rupala
Another is Parshottam Rupala, who was appointed to the Ministry of Dairying, Fisheries, and Animal Husbandry following the 2021 cabinet reorganisation.
Narayan Rane
Narayan Rane, who served as Modi 2.0's portfolio holder for Micro, Small, and Medium - Enterprises. He was victorious in the Lok Sabha election in Maharashtra but was missing from the cabinet.
