Birla Institute of Technology is a deemed-to-be university, established in 1955, located in Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It is ranked at 71st in NIRF Rankings 2023 under the University category. It was the first institute to establish a Department of Space Engineering and Rocketry back in 1964. The university is approved by UGC (University Grants Commission), AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), COA (Council of Architecture), PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) and accredited by the NBA. BIT, Mesra is accredited with &lsquo;A&rsquo; grade by NAAC.
