Coimbatore Institute of Technology was established in 1956 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is a prestigious institute affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. CIT, Coimbatore attained autonomous status in 1987. The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and has been accredited with an &lsquo;A&rsquo; grade by NAAC.&nbsp;

Coimbatore Institute of Technology offers various Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research courses. B.E and B.Tech courses are offered at the Undergraduate level. M.E, M.Tech, MBA, MCA and M.Sc courses are offered at the Postgraduate level. All the interested candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria in order to seek admission to the Institute. CIT, Coimbatore has an active placement cell that helps students get placed at various companies. The Institute has a campus size of 10 acres with a student and faculty count of 3114 and 252 respectively.
