Jadavpur University is a public state university, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Initially, it was established as Bengal Technical Institute in 1905 and then it got converted into Jadavpur University in 1955. Approved by UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). JU Kolkata offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. Admission to the courses is based on entrance examinations. Candidates must fulfil the Jadavpur University admission criteria to be eligible for the courses. Jadavpur University has a dedicated placement cell that looks after all the placement activities.
