IIT Dhanbad Admission 2026
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses. It offers B.Tech at the UG level. M.Tech, MBA and M.Sc are offered at the PG level. IIT Dhanbad also offers Doctoral courses for candidates willing to pursue Ph.D. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria of IIT Dhanbad and appear for the respective entrance exam in order to seek admission.
- Undergraduate (UG) Courses (B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech): Admission to UG courses is based only through All India Rank (AIR) obtained in the JEE Advanced exam. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, aspirants must first qualify for JEE Main (ranked among the top 2.5 lakh candidates). After qualifying the exam, stduents will be eligibile to appear for JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling for seat allocation.
- Postgraduate (PG) Programmes (M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA): Admission to PG course is based on entrance exams through portals like GATE for M.Tech (via the COAP portal), IIT-JAM scores for M.Sc (via the JOAPS portal), and CAT scores for MBA. This will be followed by a Personal Interview (PI). For M.Tech, IIT graduates with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher may be eligible for direct admission without a GATE score, the admission depends on departmental requirements.
Step by Step IIT Dhanbad Course Admission 2026 process is as follows:
- For B.Tech admissions, candidates must appear for JEE Advance and obtain a valid score. For admission to M.Tech and M.Sc courses, candidates must appear for the GATE and JAM entrance exam. For MBA admissions candidates must appear for CAT.
- Candidates must register on the official website of IIT Dhanbad and fill the credentials.
- Admission is based on the score secured in the entrance exam.
- After the declaration of results and release of final cut off, candidates must upload all the required documents on the admission portal of the Institute.
- Once the documents are verified, candidates can proceed to pay the fee.
