National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur which is popularly known as NIT Hamirpur is a public funded autonomous technical institute under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. It is a top <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/engineering">engineering college</a>&nbsp;and <a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/colleges/management">management college</a> that was established in 1986 in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India. As per NIRF Rankings 2023, NIT Hamirpur lies in the 101-150th rank band under the 'Engineering' category. NIT Hamirpur has been declared as an &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India.
National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur: Highlights
NIT Hamirpur offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is conducted through&nbsp;an&nbsp;<a href="https://www.jagranjosh.com/exams/engineering">engineering&nbsp;entrance examination</a>. Candidates are required to appear for the respective entrance examination to fulfill the NIT Hamirpur selection criteria to be eligible for admission. The placement and training cell is responsible for carrying out all the placement activities. Every year various organisations are invited to be a part of the placement drive and recruit young talent for their organisation. The institute follows a five-step placement process. First, it sends out invitations to various organisations for NIT Hamirpur placement. Next, the interested organisations fill in the Job notification form and send it back to the placement cell. Next, the database of the students is shared with the recruiting companies. The organisations shortlist candidates based on their requirements. Further, the recruiters visit the campus for their final selection process, then the selected candidates are offered jobs. The institute has a campus size of 320 acres with a student and faculty count of 3837 and 131 respectively.
