National Institute of Technology Puducherry, which is also known as NIT Puducherry or NITPY, is a public technical university. It was founded in 2009 and established in Karaikal, Puducherry, India. It has been recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Govt. of India and it is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India. The college falls under 101-150th rank band on the NIRF 2023 Ranking list under the Engineering category.
National Institute of Technology Puducherry: Highlights
NIT Puducherry offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on various national/state level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examination to fulfill the NIT Puducherry selection criteria to be eligible for admission. The Placement Cell of the institute follows a specific procedure while organising campus recruitment. The different organisations that visit the NIT Puducherry campus check the suitability of the candidate for the offered role by conducting various rounds of placement. The rounds like written examination, aptitude test, group discussion, and personal interview are conducted to select the candidates for the offered role. The mission of the placement cell is to provide adequate training to every student and make them eligible for the placement process. The institute has a campus size of 258 acres with a student and faculty count of 958 and 30 respectively.
