The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) continues to expand its academic offerings, introducing a range of innovative new courses in 2024. This covers the latest undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs launched by the esteemed institution. IIT Delhi has been launching new courses throughout 2024, including B.Tech, M.Sc, M.A, MBA, Ph.D., and more. Here is the list of new courses introduced by IIT Delhi last year.
- ‘M.Sc. in Biological Sciences’ Admissions Through JAM: Launched in February 2024 by the Kusuma School of Biological Sciences at IIT Delhi, this two-year master's program admits students through JAM 2024. The new program offers 20 seats.
- M.A. in Culture, Society, Thought: In March 2024, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Delhi introduced the ‘M.A. in Culture, Society, Thought’ program. This program explores themes of culture, society, and thought through the core disciplines of sociology, literature, and philosophy. Admissions were based on the GATE 2024 score.
- Executive Master of Business Administration: In April 2024, IIT Delhi’s Department of Management Studies introduced the Executive MBA program for working professionals. This two-year program is tailored for mid-career executives with more than three years of experience, aiming to enhance their knowledge and skills, broaden their network, and accelerate career growth without the need for a career break.
- B.Tech. in Design: The Department of Design at IIT Delhi introduced the four-year B.Tech. in Design program in August 2024, with admissions based on JEE Advanced rankings. Students in this program gain knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, systematic design thinking, research methods for analyzing socio-technical systems, as well as communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Healthcare Technology for Medical and Allied Clinical Professionals: In October 2024, the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CBME) at IIT Delhi launched this program, set to begin in January 2025. Tailored for medical and allied clinical professionals, the program blends medical principles with advanced engineering disciplines to drive deep-tech innovations in healthcare.
- Ph.D Program in Energy and Sustainability: IIT Delhi introduced this Ph.D program in December 2024 for its new international campus in Abu Dhabi. The program will focus on tackling advanced challenges related to achieving NetZero targets, including research on renewable energy, sustainable process engineering, decarbonization, process intensification, microgrids, power distribution in the changing energy landscape, and the use of AI and data science to support the energy transition.
In addition to these courses, IIT Delhi, in collaboration with the University of Queensland, launched a Joint Ph.D program through the UQ-IIT Delhi Research Academy (UQIDAR). Students in this program will have the opportunity to study at both prestigious institutions.
