Who is Dr V Narayana?
The Centre has announced Dr V Narayana as the new ISRO’s chairman. Let’s take a look at his impressive educational qualifications and career milestones!
Will succeed S Somanath
Dr V Narayana will succeed S Somanath in the Indian Space Research Organisation and will be effective from 14 January.
Educational qualifications
He finished his M.Tech in Cryogenic Engineering from the prestigious IIT-Kharagpur and earned PhD in Aerospace Engineering in 2001.
Joined isro
In 1984, V Narayana joined Indian Space Research Organisation as a Rocket and Spacecraft Propulsion Expert before becoming the Director of the Centre.
Early achievements
He has worked in Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicles (ASLV), and polar satellite launch Vehicles (PSLV) at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).
Spacecraft propulsion
Dr V Narayan has contributed to Space propulsion such as high-performance cryogenic propulsion systems.
Academic milestones
He is a Silver Medal holder from the IIT Kharagpur for First Rank in M.Tech, and won a Gold Medal from the Astronautical Society of India.
