Kamirita Sherpa is the current world record holder for climbing Mount Everest 29 times.
The First Summit
At the age of 24, he climbed Everest for the first time, that marked the beginning of his glorious career in mountain climbing.
Place of Birth
He was born in Thame village, Solukhumbu District, Nepal, which has a legacy of producing excellent climbers, especially among the Sherpas.
Start of Career
As an assistant staff member, he began mountaineering in 1992 and this offered him good opportunity to learn more about this job.
Family Tradition
Kami’s father was one of early Sherpa guides and his son Kamirita carries on with their heritage.
Other summits
Along with other well-known mountains, Kamirita Shrepa also scaled K2, Manaslu, Cho Oyu, and Lhotse.
Future Plans
After retiring from guiding, he wants to be a leader of a team at Everest Base Camp.
