The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) have announced the start of admissions for their joint PhD program. The program will begin in July 2025.

The joint PhD program is scheduled to begin in July 2025, with the application deadline on March 18. Earlier, both educational institutions launched joint admissions for the January 2025 intake.
Applications are being accepted from candidates with backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, and social sciences. According to the press release, PhD candidates will spend one year at UQ’s Brisbane campus and three years at IIT Delhi, gaining international research experience.
All UQ–IITD PhD applicants will be provided a scholarship for the entire duration of their candidature, up to a maximum of 4 years (for full-time study). Additionally, the UQ-IITD Research Academy has partnered with its industry collaborator, The Weir Group, to support a new PhD project focused on research in slurry transportation.
