The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will begin registrations for admission to its MTech, MSc, and MA programs for the July 2025 session on March 27. Interested candidates can apply through the official websites mtechadm.iitm.ac.in and jam2025.iitd.ac.in.

The institute is offering 13 MTech programs, one MA program, and three MSc programs. The application portal for these courses will be open from March 27 to April 25, 2025.

IIT Madras offers humanities and social sciences in the MA program, while the MSc courses cover chemistry, physics, and mathematics.
IIT Madras MTech, MSc, and MA Programmes 2025: Eligibility and Fees
Candidates who have cleared the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply for the MTech and MA programs.
The application fee is Rs 600 for general category applicants for MTech and MA programs. SC/ST/PwD and female candidates have to pay Rs 300.
IIT Madras: Financial assistance and Fellowships
Graduates of a four-year degree program who have completed the Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400 for 22 months.
MA students with a three-year degree will receive assistantship support starting in their third semester. Additionally, both MTech and MA students with strong academic records can transition to PhD programs after one year, and joint PhD opportunities are available.
MTech candidates will have the opportunity to conduct their projects in industry, approved organizations, and foreign countries. Fellowships from DAAD, government organisations, and industries are also available for certain courses.
