Established in 2015, this newly developed institute is the 16th IIM to exist in India. Located in Bihar, it was set up by the Union Budget of India, 2014. It is currently ranked at 53rd position in Management by NIRF rankings 2023. The IIM Bodh Gaya has many international tie-ups with schools like University of Florence (Italy), Universidad De Monterrey (UDEM, Mexico), among many others.
IIM Bodh Gaya offers three programmes in Management, including the MBA, IPM, and PhD. Admission to the IPM Programme is done based on JIPMAT scores of candidates. For the MBA programme, candidates have to appear and secure valid marks in Common Admission Test (CAT) and PhD admissions are done based on CAT/GRE/GMAT/JRF/GATE entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examination and appear for the examination to be eligible for admission.

In the graduating MBA class of 2024, IIM Bodh Gaya secured 100% placements with all 266 students landing jobs. The average salary package experienced a 7% decline compared to the previous year, the high achievers remained unaffected. The top 25%, 50%, and 75% of graduates secured impressive average salaries of 18.2 LPA, 16.6 LPA, and 15.2 LPA respectively.
The Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector saw the highest number of placements with prominent institutions like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank extending offers to graduates. Consulting, IT, and Analytics sectors followed closely, with top employers like Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, and PwC seeking talent from the institute. Participation from Energy, Manufacturing, FMCG, and E-commerce companies underlined the adaptability of IIM Bodh Gaya's graduates. The inaugural batches of MBA in Digital Business Management (DBM) and MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management (HHM), along with the regular MBA (9th batch), all secured a perfect placement record for their summer internships. The DBM program secured average and median stipend exceeding INR 1 lakh, with the highest reaching a remarkable INR 2.6 lakhs. Recruiters for these programs included industry leaders like BNY Mellon, Kotak Mutual Fund, and PaySprint. All MBA-HHM students secured internships at renowned healthcare institutions. Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Hospital, and Manipal Hospitals, with the highest stipend reaching INR 2 lakhs. The MBA program (9th batch) witnessed participation from over 75 companies, offering an average stipend of INR 75,000 and the highest reaching INR 2 lakhs. An impressive 32 students secured internships exceeding ₹1.5 lakh, reflecting the strong industry demand for their skills.
