Established in 1961, IIM Calcutta is one of the best management colleges of India and the oldest IIM in the country. It is ranked at 5th position in the Management category, as per the NIRF rankings 2024. The institute has been granted the status of &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo; and regarded as the 'Finance campus of India'. The institute offers Postgraduate, Executive and Doctoral programmes to the students out of which MBA (or PGPM) is the flagship programme. Admission to the programmes is done based on national/state-level entrance examinations as per the desired programme. IIM Calcutta also runs an international Student Exchange Program (STEP) as a part of its curriculum. Not just this, it has established itself as the top choice of recruiters across all the profiles such as Operations, Marketing, Investment Banking, Consulting, General Management and Information Systems.
