Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur which is popularly known as IIT Kharagpur is a public university for Tech. studies that was established in 1951 by the Govt. of India. It is established in Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. IIT Kharagpur is one of the first Indian Institutes of Technology which has received the status of &lsquo;Institute of National Importance&rsquo;. It is ranked 6th in the NIRF 2023 Ranking List under the engineering category.

IIT Kharagpur offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes. Admission to the programmes is based on various national/state-level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examination to fulfill the IIT Kharagpur selection criteria to be eligible for admission. IIT Kharagpur has a Career Development Centre that conducts programmes through career counselling to improve professional communication, soft skills and personality. The CDC also assists students in resume writing. Many top organisations and firms visit the campus during the IIT Kharagpur placement drive. Every year, more than 1500 students are hired by more than 250 leading organisations with the finest packages.
