Indian Institute of Technology Madras which is popularly known as IIT Madras is a public university for Tech. studies that was established in 1959 by the Govt. of India. IIT Madras offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Admission to the programmes is made through national level entrance examinations. Candidates are required to register for the respective entrance examinations and appear for the examination to fulfill the IIT Madras selection criteria to be eligible for admission. IIT Madras has an Internship and Placement Office that looks after the complete process of recruitment for students.&nbsp;The IIT Madras placement process&nbsp;begins with the registration of organisations and firms seeking to recruit students on campus. Subsequently, organisations are required to complete the Employer Registration Form (ERF) by providing all necessary information. After this, the&nbsp;organisations go through the resumes of the students after which they conduct online or offline tests, depending on their requirements for the job roles offered. In the final round, slots are distributed to students for an interview for the final selection process. IIT Madras has a campus area of 650.00 acres with a student and faculty count of 10224 and 592 respectively.
